At the beginning of the Englcom course, I was certain that I was not that good as a reader and it was difficult for me to cope up with the readings when these were done in the classroom. I was also having difficulties with my grammars in the sentences. During this course, we had reading activities wherein we read stories or articles and then, we analyzed, understood and identified their corresponding elements. We also had writing exercises where we wrote essays with different themes and types which broadened my knowledge when it comes to the articles that I read. Due to these activities, my reading and writing skills were enhanced. My knowledge on grammar usage was expanded and corrected.
I believe that the Englcom course helped me achieved my goals which are to get better with the usage of English language and to enhance my macro skills which are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. As I have observed with my drafts of the essays, I could see that as time passes the corrections on my works in regard to grammars become less. I was able to nurture my creative thinking to give good introductions and to present well ideas I have in mind. With the reading activities, I was able to use my critical thinking skills by applying what I read in answering questions asked more often than I could which enhanced it. With these much said, I could proudly say that my expectations for this course have been met or in a more specific way, it has went beyond from what I expected through the various activities that we have done during class.
